Move In/Move Out checklist

Check List

Move In/Move Out & Remodeling   provided by Canterbury C Condo Association Board

5/1/2020

Your Condominium Board works hard to maintain our building. We ask for your cooperation when you or your renter moves in or out of your unit.

Move In/Move Out Pre-Move:

Notify the Board of your move in/out date 30 days prior to date of the move.

Call Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Hospice, etc. Set pick-up date. Notify FPL and PB Utilities of your termination date.

Please note:  No moving trucks over 40 feet are allowed in the Village.

Day of Move:

When moving boxes and furniture on the property:

Do not block ingress or egress of automobiles.

Do not block walkways in front of the building or in front parked vehicles.

Be careful not to brush against or break exit lights and emergency lights.

Take care not to bump against the front doors at the top of the stairs.

Cement is not solid; it cracks easily. Be careful of the railings, the walkways, and the stairs.

Do not throw items over the 2nd floor railings or the landing railings.

All appliances must be moved with a hand cart. Do not drag furniture or appliances or boxes along the walkways or up/down the stairs.

Disposing of items in Dumpsters:

Our Dumpsters are for household waste only. All waste must be secure in a bag. You may not place bulk items not considered normal household waste (tiles, toilets, tubs, cabinets, carpets, etc.) in the Dumpster.

Disposing of large items; bulk items:

Acceptable bulk items include refrigerators, stoves and furniture.

Carpeting must be cut in 4-foot square pieces.  No rolls.

Free bulk pick-up takes place on Fridays only. Limit: 3 pieces.

Items may be put out for bulk pick up on Thursday, and only on Thursday, preferably at night.

If you cannot place your items out for bulk pick up on Thursday, you MUST arrange a private pick up at your cost with Waste Pro.  Call 561 6888912 for prices and to make arrangements.

All bulk items must be placed on the side of the Dumpster.

            Do not block the Dumpster!

If bulk items are not disposed of in the proper place, you will be charged as Seacrest will have to come out and relocate the items otherwise Waste Pro will not pick up.

Ask any Board member for further details if any of the rules are unclear.  Broken glass/large glass items:

Broken glass must be contained in a box to prevent injury to workers.  You may also arrange for a glass pick up, for a fee, by calling 561 688-8912.

Remodeling Rules

1)   All remodeling requires prior Canterbury C Association Board approval.

Including: Doors, windows, back porches and hurricane shutters.

Many projects require a permit from the Palm Beach County Planning, Zoning, and Building Department.  Such as removing walls, moving electrical wiring, installing walk-in showers/tubs, wiring hot water heaters ALL require pulling a permit with Palm Beach County Code Enforcement.

We highly suggest you check with the PBC Planning, Zoning, and Building office before you plan your remodel to be sure you will be in compliance.

You may call them at 561 233-5170.

You may also estimate the fees for your project on-line by going to  http://discover.pbcgov.org/pzb/FAQPages/Building.aspx

Failure to pull a required permit will result in fines from the county and fines from the Board.

2)   An owner has basically 3 choices to dispose of remodeling debris

Contact Waste Pro at 561 688-8912 to arrange a private pick up for a fee.

Owner can haul debris to the dump

Owner can hire someone to haul debris to the dump.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MAY THE OWNER LEAVE THE DEBRIS IN OR BY THE DUMPSTER.

Such conduct will result in haul-away fees, and a fine from the Board.
